School Life

School starts daily at 8:50a.m. and finishes at 3:10p.m.

Lunch is served in the hall between 12:00noon and 1:10p.m.

The children are encouraged to come into school from 8:40a.m. to read quietly. This creates a calm start to the day and develops independence and responsibility. All children should be in school by 8:50a.m. for registration. All absences and late arrivals are marked in the class register.
Parents are asked to ensure that their child knows in advance who will be collecting them at the end of the day. Your child’s teacher must be informed in the morning if someone different is collecting your child for any reason, i.e. going home with friends or relatives. We ask that if the person collecting your child knows they will be delayed for any reason that they contact the school. This lets us inform the child so that they don’t become concerned.

On Tuesday and Thursday mornings parents are encouraged to stay with their children to hear them read or to play some maths games.

Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of fresh water to school each day. Drinking water throughout the day does wonders for their concentration. A piece of free fruit is provided for morning playtime.

We are currently part of the Cool Milk scheme which provides free milk for children up to 5, and then at a subsidised price for those over 5. If you would like your child to receive milk during morning playtime please register any pay online with Cool Milk.
All the children eat together and can either eat a meal cooked on the premises or bring in a packed lunch from home.

Amenities Fund
The school asks for a voluntary contribution of £12.00 from each family per year. This money is used to fund consumable items that the children use
